The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (BMM) is a programme approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, recognised by the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA), and accredited by the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM). In this programme, graduates are expected to achieve outstanding professionalism related to engineering practice and research or specific fields they choose to pursue from the 135 credit hours offered courses. The programme covers broad areas of 12 mechanical disciplines set out by BEM e.g., materials, manufacturing, mechanical design, static & dynamics, instrumentation, etc. Thorough assessments are undertaken to equip graduates with a wide range of skills to be competitive, critical thinking, and complex problem solving without compromising ethics and all related regulations in the engineering field. The programme's successfulness is proven by achieving our students appointed locally and internationally in various sectors and positions.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

Program outcomes (POs) are specific statements of graduates’ knowledge, skills and attitudes (EAC Manual 2012) that are the evidences in the programme objective achievements. Consistent with world-class mechanical engineering programme, the following list are the twelve programme outcomes for the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Programme (BMM). The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering ensures that their students attain:

PO1 ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE: An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, engineering fundamentals and a mechanical engineering specialisation as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2 PROBLEM ANALYSIS: An ability to identify, formulate, research literature and analyse complex mechanical engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences. (WK1 to WK4).
PO3 DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT OF SOLUTIONS: An ability to design solutions for complex mechanical engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations. (WK5).
PO4 INVESTIGATION: An ability to conduct investigations of complex problems using research-based knowledge (WK8) and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5 MODERN TOOL USAGE: An ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex mechanical engineering problems, with an understanding of the limitations (WK6).
PO6 THE ENGINEER AND SOCIETY: An ability to apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice and solutions to complex engineering problems (WK7).
PO7 ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY: An ability to understand and evaluate the sustainability and impact of professional engineering work in the solution of complex engineering problems in societal and environmental contexts (WK7).
PO8 ETHICS: An ability to apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice (WK7).
PO9 INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM WORK: An ability to function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multi-disciplinary settings.

PO12 LIFE LONG LEARNING: An ability to recognise the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

WK1: A systematic, theory-based understanding of the natural sciences applicable to the discipline.
WK2: Conceptually-based mathematics, numerical analysis, statistics and formal aspects of computer and information science to support analysis and modelling applicable to the discipline.
WK3: A systematic, theory-based formulation of engineering fundamentals required in the engineering discipline.
WK4: Engineering specialist knowledge that provides theoretical frameworks and bodies of knowledge for the accepted practice areas in the engineering discipline; much is at the forefront of the discipline.
WK5: Knowledge that supports engineering design in a practice area.
WK6: Knowledge of engineering practice (technology) in the practice areas in the engineering discipline.
WK7: Comprehension of the role of engineering in society and identified issues in engineering practice in the discipline: ethics and the professional responsibility of an engineer to public safety; the impacts of engineering activity: economic, social, cultural, environmental and sustainability.
WK8: Engagement with selected knowledge in the research literature of the discipline.

Lulus Peperiksaan Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya PNGK 3.00 dan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya:

- Gred C (NGMP 2.00) mata pelajaran Pengajian Am; dan
- Gred C (NGMP 2.00) dalam dua (2) mata pelajaran lain,

Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Tahap 2 (Band 2) dalam Malaysian University English Test (MUET).
